Agar.io turns a very simple rule—large cells eat smaller cells—into a tense contest of patience, positioning, and nerve. You begin as a tiny colored circle in a wide arena dotted with pellets. Gathering those harmless specks adds mass slowly, while absorbing another player can produce a dramatic jump in size. The catch is that every bit of growth changes how you move. Small cells are quick enough to slip away from danger; large cells are powerful but cumbersome, so reaching the top of the leaderboard can make you more vulnerable than it first appears.
The split move gives each round its personality. Launching half of your cell forward can catch a smaller target before it escapes, but it also leaves your mass divided and easier for a patient rival to consume. Green viruses create another layer of risk: they shelter small cells, yet burst oversized cells into pieces on contact. Good Agar.io runs are rarely about chasing everything in sight. They come from reading nearby sizes, keeping an escape route open, and choosing one decisive split at the right moment. The arena can shift quickly after a large cell breaks apart, so even a poor start can become a comeback if you stay alert. It is easy to understand in one round, but surviving near the leaders takes calm movement and a good sense of distance.
How to Play

- Split with purpose: Use the split action to reach prey or dodge danger, but remember that each half can be eaten.
- Respect viruses: Hide behind spiked green viruses when small; avoid touching them when large.
- Watch the whole screen: Leave space between yourself, the arena edge, and larger cells.
